The market is a little slower in my area, but the nice thing about Des Moines is that it seems to be somewhat insulated from national trends. So, we are not nearly as stagnant as most of the country. What's one of the most memorable projects/homes you've worked on and why?
My first ever flip on my own was a little over 15 years ago and I lived in it as I fixed it up. What I remember most is my neighbors finding excuses to drop by so they could see the
progress. It helped me really begin to understand that fixing these homes was just as important to the neighborhood as it is to the future homeowners.
What’s the one thing you are most proud of?
We began New Again Houses Des Moines in an attempt to teach our boys business and that opportunity exists for those who are willing to work for it. We want them to know and understand business so they are set up to pursue whatever dreams they have. I take great pride in what we've been able to do to help accomplish this.
What's the one thing you dislike most about having to sell a house?
I invest so much in seeing the house get updated that it is always hard to let it go. I just pray that those buying the home take as much care of it as we did during the update.
