We've seen some fluctuations in the market, and it's hard to predict what the near future holds. San Antonio was growing by leaps and bounds, making it a seller's market. While it's still a popular place to live, the influx seems to be calming a bit, giving hope to buyers that they will have an opportunity to benefit from the shift.
What's one of the most memorable projects/homes you've worked on and why?
We did renovations on a 100-year-old house with a twisted fireplace and chimney; as they warped over time, they were twisting walls of the house with them, pushing some out and pulling others inward, moving them out of alignment. We worked with great contractors to arrest the twisting process as much as possible, but we had to break off the beautiful marble tile that covered the face of the fireplace to do so. Fortunately, we found even more beautiful tile that suited the period of the house, and the end result is gorgeous!
What’s the one thing you are most proud of?
We are proud of our work ethic and the feedback we have received over the course of our professional careers, confirming the value we bring to our projects, work teams, and business relationships.
What's the one thing you dislike most about having to sell a house?
We live in a house that was originally "renovated" badly, and we take care to govern our own renovations with a critical eye to quality. Understandably, some buyers assume shoddy work goes into a fix-and-flip, and overcoming this misperception can be a bit of a hurdle when selling a renovated house. It can also be difficult to let go of a house when it is clear that holding onto it would be a great investment. On the other hand, making a modest, clean, solid home available at a reasonable price to a family who might not have been able to afford a home before is very rewarding.
