The Fredericksburg region is rich in civil war history. You can walk the steps of the Confederate and Union armies on the grounds of some of their most important and influential battles. Guided and self tours are available and National Park staff are on hand for questions and discussion.


2. Check out Downtown

Downtown Fredericksburg has its fair share of history but it is also a spot for dining and shopping. William Street has become our restaurant row and you can find everything from French cuisine, American fare, pizza, and a rooftop bar.
